Waves

March 1, 2010:

This Thursday our speaker is Butch Franson.  He will speak about SMA; Spinal Muscular Atrophy.  His host is Ken Barthelette. The Board just voted to contribute part of our proceeds from the May Golf Tournament to a local girl with SMA.  This speaker with shed light on this disease.

The Dance at the Ballroom is this Saturday.  According to Dave Barker there are still a lot of tickets out there.  Please keep up your efforts to sell them, but any remaining tickets must be brought to Rotary this Thursday.  Remember, free dance lessons, great music, food and drink.  Pretty good recipe for a good time.

There will be a District Assembly on Saturday, April 10 at the York County Community College in Wells.  Details will be available soon, but Club Leadership, current and future club secretaries, treasurers and new Rotarians should think about attending.  See Cathy if you are interested.

Ingrid and Doretta have coordinated our Walk for Haiti / Polio / Senior Transportation for May 15th.  They have put together a comprehensive packet of flyers, background information, sign-up sheets, and pamphlets to get each of us started with asking friends and family to participate or contribute.  It's not too soon to start planning for this fundraiser.

Save the Date:  District 7780 District Conference, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, May 14-16.  Portsmouth Sheraton.

If you are hosting a speaker please submit biographical information to Julie Forbes two weeks prior to your speaker's date. This will allow her to submit an article to 'The Bridgton News.' Julie has been doing an excellent job with this and other P.R. and we thank her. It is wonderful to see our Club mentioned so often in the newspaper and on LRTV.
